this i promise you

My love, here I stand before you
I am yours now
From this moment on

Take my hand
Only you can stop me shaking
We’ll share forever
This I promise you

And when I look in your eyes
All of my life feels before me
And I’m not running anymore
Cause I already know I’m home
With every beat of my heart
I give you my love completely
My darling, this I promise you

My love, I can feel your heartbeat
As we dance now
Closer than before
Don’t let go
Don’t let go
Cause I can almost cry now
This is forever
I make this vow to you

And when I look in your eyes
All of my life feels before me

And I’m not running anymore
Cause I already know I’m home
With every beat of my heart
I give you my love completely
My darling, this I promise you
My darling, this I promise you
This I promise you, oh I promise you, promise you
This I promise you

joy & sorrow

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.

And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.

And how else can it be?

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.

Is not the cup that hold your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter’s oven?

And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Some of you say, “Joy is greater than sorrow,” and others say, “Nay, sorrow is the greater.”

But I say unto you, they are inseparable.

Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.

Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.

When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.

on love

When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep,
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you.
Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.
Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire,
that you may become sacred bread for God’s sacred feast.
All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart,
and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life’s heart.
But if in your fear you would seek only love’s peace and love’s pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love’s threshing floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.
When you love you should not say,
‘God is in my heart,’ but rather,
‘I am in the heart of God.’
And think not you can direct the course of love,
for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.
Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night,
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.
(Kahlil Gibran, 1923)

aku mau

‘You dump me, remember? I was once falling in love with you like crazy, so like dying when I didn’t see you around. Damn it! Now you’re coming back to me. What do you want? Can you please just leave me now, leave me with my peaceful life!’ Click! Suddenly the line cut.

On a piece of paper, I wrote this for her, with a little hope that one last thing she might do for me is to read this letter, if I had to go - at least.

‘My dear hummingbird, it was my fault, and I regret of what I’ve been done to you in the past. Although I say that I didn’t meant to do that, you wont believe it. If I said that you are my only true love, the only woman I adore so much, you wont believe if either.

But if I said that I have learnt, learnt how to be the picture you love to see, and am willing to love you the way you are, and will always try hard to make you happy and be there when you need me, I want you not to believe it, but feel it, vision it with your mind and hold it tight with your heart, my dear’ (dedjafoo)

Aku Mau (Once)

Kau boleh acuhkan diriku
Dan anggap ku tak ada
Tapi takkan merubah perasaanku Kepadamu
Kuyakin pasti suatu saat
Semua kan terjadi
Kau kan mencintaiku
Dan tak akan pernah melepasku
Aku mau mendampingi dirimu
Aku mau cintai kekuranganmu
Selalu bersedia bahagiakanmu
Apapun terjadi
Kujanjikan aku ada
Kau boleh jauhi diriku
Namun kupercaya
Kau kan mencintaiku
Dan tak akan pernah melepasku
Aku mau mendampingi dirimu
Aku mau cintai kekuranganmu
Aku yang rela terluka
Untuk masa lalu

candlelight dance

‘a room dimmed with candlelight, as i hug her tightly - the ocean waves out there sang to the tranquil night on the beach, I kissed her and whispered: I love you, Honey… She & I were dancing to the song’ (dedjafoo)

Unchained Melody

Whoa! My love, my darling,
I hunger for your touch,
Alone. Lonely time.
And time goes by, so slowly,
And time can do so much,
Are you still mine?
I need your love.
I need your love.
God speed your love to me.

Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea,
To the open arms of the sea.
Lonely rivers sigh, wait for me, wait for me,
I’ll be coming home, wait for me.

Whoa! My love, my darling,
I hunger, hunger!, for your love,
For love. Lonely time.
And time goes by, so slowly,
And time can do so much,
Are you still mine?
I need your love.
I need your love.
